Bloxwich CC 4th XI 2006 Captains Report
Gary Fellows 4th XI Captain 2006
First of all I would like to
say a massive thanks to Lewey for all his help and
advice this season. It has been a very difficult year and a few games had to be
called off because of a lack of senior players. I hope if there is a Fourth team
next year better facilities will be found as Walsall Council severely let the club
down.
There have been many ups and downs, far too many for me to report them all
but the funniest moment has to go to Warrington (Tom Tom) Passey. And his
eventful journey to Wombourne away at Dudley Kingswinford.
I feel the club needs a big influence of senior players next year to help the First
and Second elevens hold on to their new status after being promoted this year -
Well done Matty and Kelton.
Now a quick profile of the players who have represented the club in the Fourth
Xl this season on a regular basis.
ANDY LEWIS
Not bowled much this year but a great bloke to have in your team (and drinks
round)
ALAN FLETCHER
Not as good a season as last year but only playing at home matches in the park
was a massive disadvantage to him. He still scored good runs and took some
fantastic catches as wicket keeper.
ALAN KING
Still a great cricketer and friend. He says hes retiring but I hope he stays on
to pass his knowledge and vast experience to the colts of the club.
CHRIS SCOTT
Definitely the most enthusiastic cricketer I have ever played with and always
there when needed
TERRY JENKINSON
I hope Im still alive when I am Jenkos age let alone playing a sport !! I
still
think it was Bloxwichs oldest bowling attack when we performed together
away at Himley at a combined age of 118 years.
WARREN PASSEY
Wozza has kept wicket and batted with some ability this season. Still needs to
concentrate more.
GARY PEARCE
Gaz is always available at short notice and plays the game with the biggest smile on
his face I have ever seen.
PAUL POXTON
Pocko now needs to start filling his obvious potential with both bat and ball. Glad
to see him smile more though.
ASHLEY WORGAN
What can I say about the Ice Cream Kid !! When he gets it right he can be
almost unplayable but needs to be more consistent.
EMMA PEARCE
Ernie is an aggressive bat, a good fielder and the best looking person who has
played for me this season.
NATHAN LANGLEY
Nath now needs to become more confident in himself in all aspects of the game. He
undoubtedly has got lots of ability.
CHRIS COLLINS
Chris now needs to steady down - not try to hit the ball too hard or to bowl too fast
and the good performances will definitely come.
TOM BURDEN
Tommo came into the fourth team and always gave his all. He never let himself
down and batted really well against Penkridge at Pleck Park
RANDEEP MATHARU
Randy is very passionate about his cricket and always plays to the best of his
ability. He has performed well as an opening bat and a good first change bowler
JOHN ACKRILL Snr
Ack bats like Tavers, fields like Monty Pansar and drinks like a fish. What a player
to have in your side.
Thanks to everyone who helped me this season.
