The Clubmark award recognises that Bloxwich Cricket Club is able to provide a safe and
well-equipped environment for children to enjoy the game. The club is also a Focus Club
for Staffordshire Cricket
, which means it will be able to build on its success and develop
links with local schools and community groups.

The club already provides coaching at local schools and has strong links within the
community which encourages children to join the club. Boys and girls of all ages and
abilities are welcome and will benefit directly from better organised and safer sessions
and improved facilities. The club is continually creating new links with local schools and
other community groups with a view to creating new partnerships. Teachers and community
groups are welcome to contact the club who will work within schools by providing coaches
and/or coaching, and will participate in programmes working with and providing support for
teaching staff.

Players of all abilities and experience are welcome to the sessions supervised by the club's
ECB Coaches and all kit is provided.

In October 2005 Bloxwich Cricket Club became one of the first four Sports Clubs
out of 67 in the Walsall Borough to be accredited with the "Walsall Sports Club Standard".
To obtain the accreditation the club has had to evidence that its managament and
procedures meet the minimum requirements that a sports club must have in place.

The club is now officially recognised by Walsall Council as a quality Walsall sports club
and will be added to the accredited clubs database on the Council website and
actively promoted to schools and the community. This is a tremendous achievment for the
club which is proud to display the accreditation certificate in the clubhouse.

Bloxwich Cricket Club currently runs four Saturday cricket teams competing in the
Staffordshire Clubs Cricket Championship. The First XI play in Division 1
the Second XI in Division 1A, with the Thirds competing in Division 3
and the Fourths in Division 3A.

The Club runs two Sunday teams both competing in the South Staffordshire
Sunday Cricket League.

A Sunday 3rd XI is selected for occasional friendly games.

The Club’s Colts section is presently thriving. Five Colts Teams will compete
in the West Midlands Youth Cricket League in the 2007 season,
Under 17, Under 15, Under 13, Under 11and Under 10.

In the 2006 season an under 10 side was entered in the league for the first time
which is due to an upsurge in younger members over the last year.
This is as a direct result of the Clubs committment to coaching at local primary schools.

In the 2007 season, Bloxwich Cricket Club will be entering a girls under 15 team into
the Cannock Chase Cricket Development Group Girls Cricket League.

Bloxwich Cricket Club Under 21's entertained Dubai United Academy XI
in a 40 over friendly game as part of their 2006 UK Tour. The exiting game
was played at Bloxwich CC on a brilliant Summers day in blistering heat.

An entertaining friendly game that was enjoyed by both players and spectators.

In the 2005 season Cheryl Allcock and Emma Pearce played in
both Bloxwich 3rd and 4th XI's throughout the season and were
the backbone of the Women's XI. They were both regulars in the
StaffordshireUnder 17's and were both called into the Development
team to play against the MCC Women's XI.

Cheryl capped a fine season representing Staffordshire
Under 15's who won their Regional County Division and then
went on to be selected for Staffordshire Women's Squad to play
at Cambridge in the County Frizzle Championship, making her
full County debut. A great achievement for Cheryl, the Club
and her family.

Emma and Chez 2005.jpg (14393 bytes)

In the 2006 season Cheryl and Emma have again represented Staffordshire under 17 helping them in no
small way to finishing second in the Midlands League, having not lost a game. Unfortunately they were
robbed of a place in the regional final because of a rain abandoned last game of the season. They were both
selected for the Staffordshire Development X1 to play against the 2006 MCC Women's XI.

On 29th June 2006 Cheryl and Emma represented Staffordshire under 17's in the first county game of the
season against Warwickshire. An excellent display of bowling from Cheryl helped Staffs bowl out Warks
for 122 runs with figures of 7.1 overs, 1 maiden, 5 wickets for 25 runs.

Staffs were struggling against some very good bowling until Emma steadied the ship, hitting the ball to all
parts of the ground. She took Staffs to within 4 runs of victory before being run out, scoring her maiden 50 for the County.

The Bloxwich girls contribution winning an excellent game for Staffordshire.

Cheryl has gone on to represent the senior Staffordshire Women's XI regularly this season
and Emma made her debut for the seniors with a win against Northamptonshire.

Cheryl then capped a tremendous season by being selected for the Junior Super Fours representing the
North in a four day tournament under the watchful eye of Regional and England selectors.
Cheryl has already started her 2007 campaign by being selected for Regional Winter training.
Watch this space for the development of our fantastic talent. Congratulations Cheryl on a tremendous 2006.

At the 2006 Staffordshire Youth Cricket Presentation Evening both Cheryl and Emma
were rewarded for their seasons achievements with
Cheryl being named as the Staffordshire Girls Under 17's Player of the Year and
Emma named as Staffordshire Girls Under 17's Team Player of the Year.
Cheryl was in fact the leading wicket taker at Under 17's in the country!!

This is a tremendous achievement for both girls and Bloxwich Cricket Club.

In the 2007 season Cheryl and Emma again represented
Staffordshire Women's XI in the
2007 County Championships at Taunton.
